  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup neutral oil
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large brown eggs
  • 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Zest of half a lemon
  • 12 mL Escape Artists lemon tincture
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

how to make infused pumpkin bread

Put on your baker’s hat and get down to it! This bread comes together in a flash and is the perfect sweet treat for the holidays.

step 1:

Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper; set aside.

step 2:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, oil, and brown sugar. Add the eggs and whisk until combined. 

step 3:

Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon and stir—using a spatula—just until the dry ingredients are fully incorporated. 

step 4:

Pour batter into the prepared pan, then top with turbinado sugar, if desired. Bake at 350˚F for 40-50 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool for at least 30 minutes.

step 5:

While the bread is cooling, whip up the cream cheese frosting. Beat the butter and cream cheese on high speed for 2-3 minutes, then sift in the powdered sugar and beat for 1-2 minutes more. 

step 6:

Add the lemon zest, lemon tincture, and vanilla extract; beat just until combined. 

Spoon the frosting over the bread, slice, and enjoy!
